The Next Six Years!

Six years on the bench have given Judge Angel Harris a deeper understanding of the responsibilities of Section L, the systems that intersect with the courtroom, and the recurring challenges faced by people navigating the criminal legal system. That experience provides a foundation for the next six years and an opportunity to continue developing approaches that strengthen both the administration of the courtroom and its connection to appropriate resources beyond it.

During her second term, Judge Harris intends to continue strengthening processes that promote fairness, clarity, accountability, and consistency within Section L. She is also interested in deepening appropriate partnerships and identifying practical resources related to reentry, treatment, education, employment, housing, and other circumstances that can affect an individual’s ability to successfully navigate court requirements and move forward after involvement with the criminal legal system.

The next six years will build on the lessons of the first term while creating space for continued evaluation, collaboration, and development. The goal is to strengthen the work already underway while remaining responsive to what experience, community engagement, and the daily work of the court continue to reveal.
